Frederick Faust was born in May 29, 1892. So 2002 marks the 110th birthday of the "King of the Pulps!"
Faust's professional writing career began in 1917, with a poem in Century Magazine and the first of several stories in the Munsey-owned pulp All-Story. Faust continued writing until his death in 1944 -- in fact, he was working as a war correspondent when he was killed during a battle in Italy. Since that time, new books and fresh reprintings of earlier publications have continued to appear. Generation after generation, Faust's work continues to capture readers' imaginations.
