Most of us are fortunate to enough to read the printed page and to revel in the delights of Frederick Faust's work in pulp magazines or reprints. But for many who have seeing impairments, reading is a great chore or impossibility.
Of course, most of the books being released by Five Star Westerns in hardback to libraries are soon thereafter available in large print editions. In fact, my local library purchases few of the Five Star first editions and almost all of the new large print editions for its collection.
There are many audio tapes available now that features stories by Brand. You can find these at Amazon.com, eBay, and perhaps at your local bookstore.
Another version you may not have considered is Brand novels in a Braille edition. The Iowa Department for the Blind website lists a number of works by Brand available in Braille. This list is current only as of April 2000, but it's likely that many more have been translated to this format by now. The URL for the site's Brand in Braille listing is http://www.blind.state.ia.us/Library/biblios/brand.htm#Feedback.
If you have friends or relatives who have difficulty reading or are legally blind, consider a gift: If you enjoy the stories written by Frederick Faust, it's possible that your friends or relatives might like them, too.
For information about the availability of Braille texts, check with your local public or university library. Another place to check is the American Printing House for the Blind (APH), located in Louisville, Kentucky, and which has a searchable website at this URL: http://www.aph.org/index.htm.
